- Burkina Faso's president, Blaise Compaore, has stepped down. His resignation was brought out in Quagadogou, Burkina Faso, after a violent Thursday. Colonel Issaac Zida made the announcement in central Place de la Nation. He stated that the head of the state was now vacant.
- Reading this article made me realize the intensity of the politics in Burkina Faso. The people of Burkina Faso obviously had a major problem with their leader. They had a break out of violent protesting in the streets on Thursday. The leader stepped down but now the spot is vacant. I believe the government has to act fast to keep the people satisfied.
- This current event affects the whole country. Having a strong central government is key to having order within the country. With the president leaving power it leaves the government jumbled. I'm not sure if they planned for the president to step down or not, but the people are probably relieved and a little worried.
