Ireland's Population
|
DMT
Today, 2014, Ireland is in stage four based on the DMT model and the population pyramids. Based off of all the graphs you can tell that the population has baby booms every few years. On 2010 graph, the group of people that were 25-39 years of age were in a baby boom. Then the birth rate decreased and then increased again, as shown in the 2025 graph with the age group of 5-19. This makes the birth rate unsteady much like stage four on the DMT model. The death rate is also decreasing throughout the years. You can tell this from the graphs transforming from a triangle shape to a square shape. Ireland is also considered stage four because the total population seems to be growing slightly from 2010-2025.
